Turning Insight Into a Stronger, Clearer Brand
REI Oklahoma has spent more than three decades expanding economic opportunities for Oklahomans—providing flexible financing and development support to individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurs with limited access to traditional resources. As the organization looked toward its next 30 years, it partnered with Insight Creative Group to modernize its brand and ensure its identity reflected the strength, heart, and impact of its mission.
The ICG brand team began with an in-depth discovery process that centered on listening. Through two in-person focus groups at REI Oklahoma’s Durant headquarters and an online survey of more than 100 respondents across five audience segments, ICG engaged both internal leaders and external stakeholders to capture an authentic picture of how the brand was perceived. The findings revealed strong internal alignment around REI Oklahoma’s mission and values, but also a key opportunity to increase awareness and consistency across its programs. A review of marketing materials and communications further underscored the need for a unified, cohesive identity.

From these insights, ICG developed a comprehensive brand strategy and architecture that repositioned REI Oklahoma from a fragmented “house of brands” into a singular, powerful master brand.
This new structure brought all programs—such as Business Services and Homeownership—under the same identity, strengthening recognition and connection to the REI Oklahoma name.
Unifying a legacy of impact under one bold, forward-moving brand.
To articulate this evolved identity, ICG crafted a new verbal foundation that included brand attributes, values, voice, and a moving manifesto anchored in the belief that “there is no such thing as a self-made person.” This story celebrates REI Oklahoma’s role as a partner in progress—helping Oklahomans build generational wealth and community impact through access and opportunity.
By the end of the project, REI Oklahoma emerged with a revitalized brand system—complete with a clear architecture, unified voice, and modern visual identity. More than a design update, the rebrand set the foundation for the organization’s next chapter: one that honors its legacy while propelling it confidently into the future.
