About the Role:
Do you have a way with words? Is that way clever, rooted in strategy, and does it make a clients’ hair stand up on their necks? (We all have neck hair, don’t make it weird). If you’re someone who knows that puns and wordplay might be fun, but they don’t always do enough to cut through the noise and answer the brief, then boy do we have an opportunity for you.
Responsibilities
- Craft well-thought-out advertising concepts that answer a creative brief and make an impact
- Partner and constantly collaborate with an Art Director to develop ideas for campaigns and projects
- Use research and strategic thinking to know who you’re talking to and what they want
- Push the work to make it better and never be satisfied with “good enough”
- Understand that copy and art direction are a relationship, not a situationship
- Solve problems by crafting work that makes people pause
- Ask questions. Like, a lot of them. The who’s, what’s, when’s, where’s, and why’s of every brief
- Build and maintain the verbal identity of brands
- Get comfortable talking about and selling your work.
- Review and proof copy before final production
- Bring a sense of excellence and scrapiness to the production phase, working alongside your Art Director and Creative Director to stick the landing on the concept
- Collaborate with different departments across social, media, and video because we’re all friends here
Requirements
- 3+ years of writing experience at an agency, in-house, or equivalent
- Exceptional portfolio
- Hawk-like attention to detail
- Must play well with others and enjoy collaborating with a team
- Interest in consumer behavior, pop culture, and advertising trends
- A sense of humor, lol
